Closure Work starts tomorrow
Welcome parents to your School Closure Grade 5 Sturgeonites Dashboard. Any new updates will be posted here. Students unsure of passwords or usernames for Raz Kids (reading) or Prodigy/Mathletics, please email me at katrina.sturgeon@ocsb.ca
Please feel free to try out the posted activities for Math and Language (the two subjects that I teach your child). You will notice curriculum learning goals may be the same for a few days in a row as we practice these skills repeatedly or I post word problems, activities to do at home, crafts that link...all in addition to worksheets and recommended games or research tasks. Always check the learning goal and see if your child mastered those concepts.
I will try to find relevant videos for every lesson. This is easier in math than in language, but I will try my best. Its very tricky to teach online!

Should I have my friend over for a Playdate? Nope.
Many are asking: can we still have playdates with our kids? The answer, bluntly, is no.

School Closure Lessons
Miss. Sturgeon will be creating a special tab (above) just like the homework section. It will be labelled SCHOOL CLOSURE LESSONS. She will be posting math and language tasks to do for the days missed, in addition to tutorial videos and lessons to watch via YouTube.
Please check this class site regularly for work to help keep academics up during the Coronavirus Closures. Lessons will be simpler foundational concepts--- review, times tables, long division, grammar activities etc. that students can work on with minimal assistance, NOT the usual style of our classroom learning. Hope this helps! This tab will start after the proper March Break.
God Bless
Be Well
Miss Sturgeon
