Parliament Hill and Art Tour

    Tomorrow is our class field trip. Please wear comfortable walking boots or weather proof shoes, as we will be walking a lot during the day. Pack a good lunch and have smaller drinks or juice boxes. We are not allowed backpacks, only lunches will be carried on the bus. We have our Parliament Tour around 10am (English or French for Immersion students). Then we board the bus and go to the Gallery. We have lunch in the lunchroom then break into small groups (organized by afternoon class)where we can wander the gallery to look at the architecture and paintings for an hour.

    We had many volunteers and only a few spots: Miss. Sturgeon drew names from a baggie. Volunteers were already called. We cannot fit any other adults, as we have 4 teachers already coming. Thank you so much for your volunteering enthusiasm!

Bullying Awareness Week

Tomorrow, we will be talking a lot about bullying. Students are encouraged to wear Pink to support Anti-Bullying. Check out the great links posted to the right of this notice! We will explore these sites in class.

CHOCOLATES!

Our class Christmas Basket theme is chocolates, and we only have one donation of Kinder Surprise Eggs so far. If you have time to send in a donation of any chocolate treat for our fundraiser basket, send ASAP. The formal deadline is Tuesday.

Photo Re-Take Day is Monday!

Not happy with how your photo turned out this year? Retakes are on Monday, so dress for success! The weather is supposed to be sunny, so no bad hair day is in the forecast. You can pop a note in the agenda if you are hoping for a re-take.

We Remember...

As part of our Remembrance Day Liturgy on November 11th (which our morning class will be leading) we ask for a few volunteer students to bring something special from a family member or long ago relative who fought in WWI , WWII, or any other war and speak about them. We also want students who have Peacekeeper or Military family members to share! We update a school video every year that is played during the liturgy. This year, we have about 4 or 5 interview spots available in our video.

Check out the homework tab this week as soon as you can! The guide is there to fill in! If you can share something about your family for Remembrance Day, bring in an item or photo by Wednesday of this week and we will film it.

Black and Orange colours day tomorrow

Our school will be dressing in Black and Orange Halloween Colours tomorrow! Our morning class will be working on Halloween Math Stations. It's going to be lots of fun! We have a mixture of multiplying, estimation, measurement, as well as using your creativity to create a spooky class imovie Trailer.

Afternoon students will be learning about the human skeleton in science, and finishing their Halloween Artwork project!

Spirit Day #1

Our school is encouraged to show SPIRIT by dressing up like any character from a book (or comic). This ties in nicely with the finale of our Book Fair. Hope to see some of you dressed up as someone! Fairy tales count too! They are wonderful traditional literature!
